According to an email to CSRG from Manchester City Council, the council’s Winter Services Plan;
“will kick in after 3 days of prolonged severe weather. The City Council has a comprehensive plan that aims to ensure that all major routes across the city are cleared of snow and ice and that access to essential services is possible. The Council will also have resources available to be deployed at a local level and Ward Coordination has been identified as the best method for linking Ward needs with the resources available at the City Council. In order to help identify priority areas where further Council resources might need to be deployed and to keep the Council updated with information at a local level, we are asking for volunteers from the community, RSLs, residents’ associations to give their contact details. In addition to this, the City Council will also have a number of shovels available per Ward and volunteers are also sought to help shift snow from priority areas.”
