Seed swap event

On the Eighth Day wholefood shop on Oxford Road, near Manchester Metropolitan University, are holding a ‘seed swap’ day on 22nd February. This means that anyone who wants to grow flowers, fruit and vegetables can take packets of spare seed along and exchange them for varieties you want to grow. If you don’t have seeds to swap, you can pay £1 to join in instead. As On The Eighth Day says:

“Seeds are expensive, considering the surplus after sowing what you need. Take this opportunity to exchange your extras for new varieties. Swap as many seed packets as you like; if you don’t have any you can pay £1 to join in. They can be seeds you’ve collected from your home-grown vegetables and flowers, the remains of seed packets that you haven’t got around to sowing or freebies from gardening magazines. For more details email Brenda: brenda@eighth-day.co.uk.”

The event is on Tuesday 22nd February and runs from from 5-7pm (111 Oxford Rd, M1 7DU).
