Volunteers at Victoria Baths

Victoria Baths, the stunning early 20th century public bath house in Ardwick (not far from MRI), is looking for new volunteers to get involved in running the building and its events. Some readers may remember the Baths from the TV series Restoration, with Griff Rhys Jones, which in 2002 awarded the building £3.5 million in funds to restore parts of it to their former glory. Much of that work is now done and the building is open to visitors on a regular basis, with exciting new plans for the future.

If you’re interested in commenting on how you or other people might want to get involved with the Baths, and on the kind of training that might be useful for local volunteers, you can fill in an easy online survey here.
The Victoria Baths website, here, also has lots of information on this history of this amazing building, on open days and other events there, and on plans for the future. The buildings include several swimming pools and a beautiful Turkish Bath/sauna area which may one day be back in public use.
