Friday 27 May 2011 is Manchester Neighbours Day. Why not apply for a grant of up to £200 to help you organise a celebration or event?
The aim is to strengthen local communities by encouraging groups of neighbours to meet and get to know each other better, by arranging street parties, environmental projects, fun days or any small local event that brings people together.
Manchester Neighbours’ Day is part of the council’s ‘Be Proud Love Manchester’ initiative to improve neighbourhoods and increase local pride. You and your neighbours could get together and apply for a grant (up to £200) to help organise an event or project on or around 27 May 2011.
Funding can be for costs of small items of equipment, materials, room hire, decorations, or any reasonable costs for carrying out a project celebrating Manchester Neighbours’ Day.
