Platt Fields events, this weekend

SATURDAY 2ND JULY 12 – 4PM in the sports zone (by the skate park and BMX track)
For all young people and their families:

YOUTH SUMMER JAM – an afternoon of taster activities of what is available during the summer holidays in Fallowfield and Rusholme
– Opportunity to view a BMX race with qualified coaches staying behind afterward to work with young people interested in having a go!
– Skateboard coaches
– Street dance taster sessions with Fierce Dance Co.
– Design your own T-Shirt with Gallery of Costume and young designer
– Active lifestyles (possible taster sessions)
– Information on Trinity House summer programme, Drama workshops and promoting safe sex
– NHS promoting healthy lifestyles
– Friends of Platt Fields promoting Park activities and projects (and also info on other projects eg Pedal Mcr)
– City South Info on Youth Forum
– Fire Service Promoting fire safety
– GMP B3 Neighbourhood Policing Team
– Promoting Zion Arts Summer Programme and Drama Workshops
– Connexions
– MAES Community engagement worker – Info on next years courses etc
– Face painting
– Food/ refreshments to be provided by Park Vendor and Friends of Platt Fields Park

And

SUNDAY 3RD JULY 1-3PM it’s SPEAKERS CORNER again!! (at main entrance on Platt Lane)
Come and take part or listen to others take the stand on all issues of the day

And SATURDAY JULY 9TH LAUNCH OF PEDALMCR (at the boathouse) 1-5pm (times tbc) – everything that’s bikes: workshops, team roller racing, alley cat, bike games, films, food and other bike fun http://www.pedalmcr.org.uk
